Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs or the equivalent and be between the ages of 18 and 24. The applicants' teachers must be members of the National Opera Association. Selection is based on a recording of two arias for preliminary hearings and a live audition of four arias for the final judging. There is a $20 entry fee.

Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions

Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens, residents of at least one year or students in U.S. or Canadian institutions of higher learning. Applicants must also be 20 to 30 years of age, have musical training and background and demonstrate operatic potential. They must be able to sing in more than one language. Applicants must audition with five arias.

Stillman Kelley National Instrumental Awards

Eligibility: Applicants must be either high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors or 15 to 18 years old by December 1 of the year of application. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The disciplines included are cinematic arts, dance, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice and writing. Those applying in the discipline of jazz music may be registered aliens. There is a nonrefundable fee.
