Eligibility: Applicants must be Vermont residents who are college juniors, seniors or graduate students and must major horticulture, landscape, design, conservation, forestry, agronomy, plant pathology or biology with a special interest in plants, ecology and allied subjects. They must be full-time students at an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Previous winners may reapply.

Eligibility: Applicants must be either a high school senior from the state of Maine or a graduate of a Maine high school (within the past four preceding years). Students must attend a college or university also in Maine starting in the fall. Applicants must have studies aimed at the ecology and economics in Maine to help insure that Maine benefits from the education of the student.

A list of member institutions is online. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA in environmental conservation coursework and a minimum 3.0 overall.
