AHIMA Foundation Merit Scholarships

Eligibility: Applicants must be members of AHIMA, have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, have completed 24 credit hours in health information management (HIM) or health information technology (HIT), have at least 6 credit hours remaining in their course of study and be taking at least six hours per semester in pursuit of the degree. The degrees eligible are AA degrees, BA/BS degrees and those who are credentialed and pursing a master's degree. Scholarships are also available for HIM professionals pursuing graduate degrees in the health information field.

Amount: $1,000-$2,500

Undergraduates must be enrolled in a program that is a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), and graduate students must be enrolled in a program that has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
